Spring Clean "like" Snow White!!!

This past week all I have been doing is cleaning... I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned...  I shampooed my carpet, cleaned under my appliances and washed walls.. When one thinks of "spring break",  I think their imagination runs away with thoughts such as beaches and warm climates, umbrella drinks, and bathing suits... Well, that's the same thought I have.

I really don't think that most people think of cleaning house...

You know the term, "Let's Clean House."

     I  certainly did do that...

I wanted to concentrate on my garden. I thought of huge things that I wanted to do... but !!!  Of course that didn't quite happen.

Well, I do feel like I did, what I set out to do; except two things, I plan to do those very soon.

Garden Updates!

I have radish and carrots coming... Yay!

      My chives are very happy.

The coffee can lettuce is doing brilliantly...

 Weather happenings:

The winds are picking up tonight  and showing us who is boss...  and rain is said to be appearing.  In general the saying goes as such...  "April showers bring May Flowers"

Well the desert doesn't play like that.  The desert is not forgiving at any level, except on it's terms... When rain shows, the valley is usually in the monsoon season, and the rain is at a torrential rate, flash floods and scary lightening or micro-bursts ( like tornadoes but not) or at a minute amount to make just enough to blow mud and dust into every crevice of any type of gap imaginable. So rain at any other time is such a blessing to the garden.

Rain update from last night:

It rained and made the garden lovely and dewy and not so dusty... It is a wonderful feeling to be out there in this type of weather.

I wanted to bring  this Web Creation up.  I have had so much fun surfing this place.  There are so many ideas that I want to put into Tangent, I just don't know where to begin.

I have been mulling around the thought of how will I plant gourds or squash or whatever...  But, a brilliant someone came up with a way...  hahahaha!!!

Being that the sun is so daunting during summer, I can use what ever plant,  like squash, melon, cucumbers, etc... as the shade...

Okay to explain for those who need some enlightenment...  I make a frame from some wood, line it with wire mesh for the vines to attach itself, and brace the frame above whatever needs shade like lettuce or etc... place it to a point that it is at a slant like the opening of a cold frame lid when it is open...  I solved my planting problem and helped with shading in the intenseness of the sun.  Brilliant!!!

I am on another tangent, and this is going to happen! Well.... I will make it so...

An Herb That eludes me!

Sage!!!

I can never keep a sage plant happy for some reason, so what do  I do go and add another Sage plant to the tangent collection for what ever reason, possibly to conquer the fact of getting one to be happy in my tangent garden... Right! I am really not sure if it will stay happy but I give it a go again until I get it right!

Herbs are a new "old" tangent I want to get back to learn more of... so I think that "Sage" will be a plant to educate myself with... maybe!!!

    MINT....

I did bring orange mint home also!

I thought how about Orange Mint Jelly!

When it gets big enough to get about two cups worth out of it, Mint Jelly will happen!

Oh for those who enjoy celebrating St. Patrick's Day, I hope it was a wonderful one for you!

Spring is in a few days,  happy spring!
