Container Gardening commencing...

Front Yard Gardening....

I just finished planting the front yard containers... They look amazing..

I put this list of plants in them:  Italian Parsley, Anaheim Peppers, petunias, and tomatoes, One has Solar Fire - determinate tomato, and the other pot has the tomato Black Krim - heirloom, indeterminate.

the pot with Solar Fire - determinate
The pot with The Black Krim - indeterminate

I have a watering regiment of 5:30 a.m. for 15min, and then I"ll check when I get home from work to see if there is a second watering needed... I put a layer of rocks at the bottom of the pot and then compost layer 1/3 up. I purchased potting soil with slow release fertilizer in it, and now I don't have to worry to much about feeding, I will fish fertilize in about two weeks.

I need to come up with another pot though, I think, I am only going to get one more pot, instead of two.
I want to some different plant in it... I don't think that the

I am wondering if the HOA community will say anything about my pots of veggies.

RANTING!!!

There was an article the other day about a gentleman that has a Huge tree in his back yard, the city of Scottsdale decided to attack him, for "it" being a problem... He didn't even plant the tree. He bought the house a few months back.

If he does not get rid of it, there will be a fine of 2500.00 a day and put in jail for 6 months.

What kind of BS is that?

The man is being bullied by the city for one... and two, why is it an issue? Especially since the tree looks like it has been there for about 30years or more. Why weren't they squawking then? At the point of "it" just being planted in the first place? This does not make sense to me!

I think cities put too much of there nose in the areas that don't need to be, so that they can task avoid of what needs to be handled... Just sayin!!!

NEW PLACE TO START SEEDS....

I have a shelf that I really didn't know what to do with... But, I think, that I have a use for it now!

I had my pots on it and some junk that really needed to be thrown away or done what ever ... I thought I wanted to practice with planting seeds and realized that I didn't have a good spot to put them to germinate, until, I looked up and there it was..  The glitter of my eye, the light bulb of concept, a good clean up for the shelf and whaaaaahla!!

 Pleasant Surprises!!!

As I was snapping off the shelf pictures, I looked down and look what I found.....

I believe I found an eggplant spawning in the compost pile...  then..... wait, wait,

A bell pepper plant amongst the basil... Amazing...... isn't it.... So it is really to hot to transplant it right now, but, I will wait for it to cool down, and pot them up!

I thought that I would take advantage of the space on the shelf, and use one off seed starters to plant some plants...

Seed Journal

10/02/11 - seeded    Black Beauty Eggplant
10/02/11 - seeded    Parsley Triple curl
10/02/11 - seeded    Okra (from the school garden)
10/02/11 - seeded    Cabbage Orient express

My potted tomatoes- I think these were the heirloom yellow pear... and I'm not sure of the other two are doing very well.

So I have three tomatoes, a bell pepper, and an eggplant along with couple hundred basil plants!
Hows that for not trying to hard!! ha ha ha!!

  The Weather----

The word is there is a huge cool off, coming soon... by Friday the low is going to be in the 50's...
Are they kiddin me! It is in the 100's still... It always makes me think, does the weather know what they're talking about?

Well here is to hoping the 100's will cease for awhile and Fall begins...

Oh! By the way, Happy Fall!!!
